Hand appliqué; beading & crocheted edging

A contemporary design that is executed in the old "penny wool" style using felted wools and buttonhole embroidery stitch. Some of the pearl cotton around is hand dyed. I also crocheted edging around the sweet peas. While the carrot appliqué depicts the vegetable, all the various types of beads suggest "sparkly" carats.
